LEFT: The Magazine with the Cartridge Store highlighted. The Numbers show where photos were taken from.
RIGHT: 1. The Entrance to the Cartridge Store from the ramp leading into the Magazine. The barrier has now been removed to allow public access and there are exhibitions inside the room. Originally there was a steel door in the doorway. The entrance formed a small lobby where Magazine workers would leave clothing and other items not permitted in the Cartridge Store.
LEFT: 2. The Cartridge Store before exhibits were put on inside it. At the far side is a figure of a man passing cased propellant charges (cartridges) out of the of the Store through an Ammunition Hatch.
LEFT: 3. The same figure photographed from the passageway. Unfortunately this Ammunition Hatch has been destroyed by a doorway being cut in to the wall to ease entry for visitors. This doorway gives a false impression of what this area looked like.
RIGHT: 4. Looking along the Cartridge Store from the far end where the door has been cut in to the wall. Originally, lighting would have been by means of oil lamps placed in lantern recesses in the walls. These were enclosed by a glass door.

LEFT: the location of the wall which once divided the Cartridge Store in two.
