LEFT: The 6-Inch BL Gun Battery Magazine The position of the gun emplacements above are in grey. Compare this to the plan of the 9.2-Inch emplacement shown in the history of Fort Siloso 1885-1918 (right). The extension enabling the Magazine to service two 6 Inch Guns is clearly seen in the left-hand plan.
The No.1 Gun Ammunition hoist is located in one of the original 9.2-Inch Gun Hoists. The No.2 Gun Hoist was constructed in the extension to the Magazine and the other 9.2-Inch Hoist abandoned. Each of the 6-Inch BL Guns had 500 AP Shells and 50 HE Shells available. Additional ammunition was stored in the reserve Magazine elsewhere on Blakang Mati.
The entrance to the Magazine from the path between the Siloso Point underground complex and the Casemates (Gunners Shelter). The stairs seen in the centre of the photograph on the left take you up the the No.1 Gun Emplacement. The steel door is shown open and the actual entrance is to the left of the door.
On entering the magazine there is a twelve metre tunnel which slopes down and to the right.
