1. The passage to the Cartridge Store leading from the ammunition hoists for the No.2 Gun. On the right-hand wall is a Lantern Recess. The branch to the right leads to two ammunition hatches. The entrance to the storage room is on the centre-left of the photograph.

2. Two Ammunition Hatches in the branch of the passage. Propellant Cartridges would be passed out of these to men of the team operating the Hoist. Men working on the Hoist would not enter the store itself for safety reasons.

3. Inside the Cartridge Store looking at the entrance from the No.2 Hoist. The two ammunition hatches can bee seen. Two similar hatches are in the opposite wall. There are no Lantern Recesses in the Store. What light there was would come from lanterns in the access passages.

4. Ammunition hatches in the branch of the passage leading to the No.1 Hoist.
