6-Inch QF Magazine Shell Store

1. A lantern Recess in the passageway between the two Shell Store rooms underneath the gun emplacement. There is another lantern recess opposite this one. The entrance to the No.2 Shell store can just be seen on the right of the photograph.

Looking along the No.1 Shell Store2. Looking along the No.1 Shell Store from the central entrance. An ammunition hatch with steel doors in in the wall. Below it is a larger hatch which once had a sliding steel door. You can see where this slid in the photograph .Through this, shells on a trolley would have been passed out to the men working at the Hoist. There are no Lantern Recesses in either Shell Store.

4. Inside the No.2 Shell store. Unfortunately, The lower hatch has been blocked by the owners of the Fort.
